In The News: Support autistic adults through Electronics Recycling Solutions

The Frist Center for Autism and Innovation aims to support and empower adults with autism in the workforce through research and community partnerships. Electronics Recycling Solutions (ERS) is one of those local organizations putting the Frist Center’s principles into practice. Their business model “is designed to provide sustainable, long term employment for adults with autism and different disabilities while offering an ethical solution to electronics waste management.”

ERS is a social enterprise: a business designed to marry marketplace competitiveness with social impact. This innovative company fills a community need – safe disposal of electronics waste – while simultaneously providing employment opportunities to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

ERS was recently acquired by a Franklin-based organization called Health Connect America, which will allow the recycling operation to expand to work in twice as many counties.

You can support ERS’s mission and create work for adults with disAbilities by taking your electronics waste to Electronics Recycling Solutions.
